Knicks Beat Celtics To Give Us A Clutch Holiday Treat

So this is how the Knicks greeted us back to basketball.

Yeah. That's right, it's an expensive as hell HD-3D projector being displayed across MSG's entire floor.
Ballin!

We know the pre game was entertaining and thanks to an act of God or better coaching or something, the game was actually entertaining too!
The NY Knicks battled the Boston Celtics on Christmas day and came out the victor, beating Boston 106-104. The Knicks main man tonight was good ol' Melo with 37 pts on 10 of 17 shooting to go along with 8 boards and 3 assists. He also had the final four points to put the Knicks ahead and set up the final defensive effort(no I'm not joking, defensive effort!) that stopped the Celts cold.

The Knicks got all over the Celtics to open things up. There was plenty of defense and offensive ball movement, things that good basketball teams do that seem to work. I noticed that our Knicks seem to be doing a much better job as a team communicating on D and switching on screens and that made a ton of difference in this game.

The other factor on D? Newly acquired Tyson Chandler. He didn't score much, only 7 points; two of which came on a vicious alley-oop set up by Melo in the 4th quarter, but he altered a ton of the Celtics shots and even had 6 swats on the night. His numbers were not crazy at all but he was an obvious difference maker in my opinion.
The D let up a bit a helluva lot in the 3rd quarter allowing Boston to put up 35 but NY managed to put the clamps back on to hold them to 17 in the 4th. There still seems to be no answer for Rajon Rondo  however, as he filled it up 31 pts 13 assts 5 rebs and 5 steals. Next time I suggest D'antoni send a gaggle of hookers to Sir Rondo's resting quarters while another anonymous party contacts the NYPD and invites them to a ballin' coke & cunt party hosted by Rondo. Rondo can't score thirty from Rikers son, he aint that good.

Offensively it was all Stat and Melo. We mentioned Carmelo Anthony earlier but Amare Stoudemire chipped in with a pleasant 21 points including 6 points from his newly found 3 pt prowess, going 2 for 2 from down town.

Again, as expected in crunch time...all Melo. I do have to give a special shout out to Bill Walker though. With less than four seconds left, Walker and Tyson Chandler almost became tangled up due to Rondo and Garnett running the two man game.Good communication and a speedy recovery by Walker sealed the win with the final shot by Garnett, a mid range baseline jumper was contested and missed. Garnett failed to tie the game, and that was all she wrote.
