Jets And Giants Looking Pretty Good Going Into Playoff Stretch

Two important and crucial wins for NY football took place this past Sunday, with the NY Jets destroying the Chiefs and the  NY Giants pulling out a come from behind...pause...win against the Cowboys. Both were very crucial wins for each  respective team as a loss would have dramatically diminished either team's chances at a playoff spot.

The Jet's demolished the Chiefs 37-10 in what running back LaDainian Tomlinson described as probably their "best team effort" led by a defense that only allowed 4 first half offensive yards to the Chiefs. Yes. That's right, four. F.O.U.R. As in, 1...2....3....4! FOUR. How that happens, I don't know but it probably helped they were playing the Chiefs. I hope Tamba Hali was pissed off yet impressed enough to think of the Jets come free agency time though( Don't be cheap Jets, get it done!).

This is the problem though. I mean every team wants a win like this, Mark Sanchez was efficient going 13 for 21 for 181yds 2 passing TD's and 2rushing TD's, the defense was great but it's just depressing when you see how good this group can be and then they lose to Oakland week3 and the Broncos week11. I know the Broncos are hot right now, but that's a team they should beat. That's a team they had the opportunity to beat. Despite the talent this team doesn't seize opportunities when they present themselves. The AFC East is getting more dangerous by the week and they're going to need to remedy that if they want to stay relevant in the future. The next three games aren't "gimme's" and the Jets are going to have to play as well and if not better going against Philly, the G-men, and Miami. That'll be harder without Jim Leonhard anchoring the defense due to a knee injury.

The Giants had a much more formidable foe Sunday in the Cowboys; falling behind 12 points before a comeback orchestrated by Eli Manning saved the day for the boys in blue. The win snapped one helluva 4! game losing streak and made Dallas' playoff chances that much more slimmer.

It was a great game, as it always is when these two meet. The win was crucial though as it put the Giants back atop the NFC East.

Easy Eli went for 400 yards against the Cowboys but had plenty of help from Dallas' defense which collapsed to the point of having Brandon Jacobs rush for his first 100+ yard day in over a year! I'm cereal people, no clowning. The G-men have Washington and then the Jets up next before another go at the Cowboys. It's not gonna be a picnic but they are capable of taking all of those games as long as they play their best football which is a habit that fans don't mind seeing at all.
