Jets And Giants Come Away With Week 6 Wins

So both New York teams walk away with a victory this past week. We'll start with the Jets first because this game was much easier to analyze.

The Jets simply didn't suck as much as the Dolphins. Case closed. I don't hate on the phins but they simply can't execute and while the Jets played okay enough to win, had they actually played a team that routinely executes and finishes plays that 24-6 win may have been a 24-6 loss. The offense still can't find rhythm, the line backers aren't all getting off their blocks quick enough, opposing offenses still don't respect Cromartie and he hasn't really gave them good enough reason to. Even with all of that the Jets still handled Miami pretty easily and a wins a win, especially with rumors of a fractured locker room, this one came in the nick of time.

The Giants got into a highly skilled and competitive fight with the Bills Sunday. I can't be the only Jets fan who is scared of what the once lowly Bills have accomplished this season thus far. They could lose every game here on out and would still have my respect along with a solid foundation for the future. So this was a prime test for the G-men. Facing an up and comer like Buffalo, staring them in the eye and beating them in a close but fierce battle.

The Giants won 27-24 on the strength of Ahmad Bradshaw's 3 rushing touchdowns. It was a back and forth match the whole time but the Bills just didn't have that experience at closing out games like the Giants. Eli got plenty of help and despite finishing with no touchdowns he completed 66% of his passes and threw for a chunky 292 yards.

The Giants enter their week 7 bye at 4-2(How the HELL did they let Seattle beat them!?!). That's good enough for 1st place in the NFC East. Meanwhile, the jets are sitting at .500 with a 4-4 record going up against a hot Chargers team in week 7. That's a pretty tall order. Literally, both starting wide outs are 6'5". If the Jets want to even think about the playoffs they'll need to iron out the wrinkles(which we'll visit later.) and string a few more wins together. We'll see Sunday if they've decided to be content after beating the Dolphins or if they put on their hard hats realizing that there is still work to be done.
