The Jets And Giants Prepare For New Challenges After A Successful Week Of Football

Both New York teams came out on top week two to send the Giants to 1-1 and Jets to 2-0

First up is Eli and the boys, who despite starting off rocky, managed to catch rhythm to the tune of a 28-16 victory. Eli had an aight 223 yds with 2 TD's and an INT. He was decent but only after a horrible start. To be fair though it looked like his receivers were not on the same page early on. The Giants won but it was far from convincing. It looked as if the Rams gave this one to them and Bradford clearly outplayed Eli so the G-Men need to step it up if they want to compete in an NFC East division that gets tougher every year.

Since as it seems the Giants team bus must have ran over an elderly gypsy queen and have since been stricken with a team curse, two more players are out going into week three. Mario Manningham suffered a concussion and will be unavailable at least for this week and Domenik Hixon's ACL exploded from the sheer awesomeness of what will be his only touchdown catch...for the SEASON. In a clearly desperate manuever the Giant's signed some hot dog vendor that guy Clayton who sucks but had experience from playing with other decent players on the Raven's, he also did some spot work last year for the G-Men...If I'm not mistaken that was when Hixon's knee exploded the last time. I swear the Giants need to go to Cosco and stock up on ACL's in bulk because they sure run through those things.

This week the Giants face the Iggles. They need to RUN and run HEAVY. Not only because the Giants probably have local homeless men needing work Clayton starting at wideout but because run defense is probably where you'd like to start an attack against the Iggles 3 pro bowl corner backs.

*******

The Jets beat the hell out of the Jaguars. During the game, center Nick Mangold suffered a high ankle sprain but that's the extent of major talking points for this game. They kicked ass plain and simple. Jets won 32-3. Sanchez had some moments but looked like he could use more practice and less commercial time. Shonn Greene is still off to a slow start despite an emphasis on the run but defense, special teams and field position was enough to help get the job done.

Next for the Jets is a three week road trip with the first stop in Oakland. We should be fine this week as long as Sanchez remembers to throw the ball to the guys in green. I think our defense should be able to control most of this matchup.
